Flexible Instruction Days (FIDs)

As we quickly approach winter months, we thought we’d go over expectations for Flexible Instruction Days.  Microsoft Teams will be the primary means by which teachers will deliver instruction to students on an FID.  Via Microsoft Teams, teachers will connect with their students on live video calls/meetings.  Teachers will record which students are present on each Teams video call for attendance tracking.  MS Teams also allows teachers to download attendance reports of each video call for record-keeping purposes.  During live video calls, teachers will instruct and assign learning activities to students, and teachers will monitor completion of these assignments to assign grades.  Teachers will also keep track of students’ participation.

Students who do not participate in live video calls or complete hard copies of pre-distributed FID assignments will be reported as absent for the FID.  Parents/guardians must submit an absentee excuse within three (3) days of the FID or the absence will be considered unexcused.

Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation in making sure Flexible Instruction Days operate smoothly and are as productive as possible for our students and teachers.
