Student of the Month: Lily Hicks

Written by Xena Moore

Twelfth grader Lily Hicks has been named Mount Union Area High School Student of the Month for September. Multiple staff members and students put great consideration into deciding who to pick for Student of the Month. Hicks was recognized for her great responsibility and participation in the school. Hicks plays volleyball for MUAHS and is a member of the Student Council as well as National Honors Society.

When asked about which teacher has inspired her, Hicks said chemistry teacher Jeffery Vogus is “bright and encourages” her to do her best.

When asked who her biggest inspiration is, Hicks said her mom because she “drives me to be the best I can be.”

Hicks said her biggest accomplishment in school is her grades overall through the years. She has worked extremely hard to get to the place she is at now and will continue to do so.

Her goal that she is pushing the most to achieve is to one day become a pharmacist.

Her Favorite meal from the school cafeteria is the “super sub.”

When asked for her favorite pop tart flavor she had said “the brown sugar cinnamon or whatever it’s called.”
